Obituary of Patrick J. Kelly

KELLY, Patrick J. of Hartsdale, NY passed away at home on September 22, 2024.Patrick was born on December 25,1953 in Atlantic City, NJ. The son of deceased parents John L. Kelly Jr. and Anne C. Kelly. Patrick earned his graduate and undergraduate degrees at Fairleigh Dickinson University. Prior to college he graduated from Holy Spirit High School and Our Lady Star of the Sea. Patrick was confirmed and baptized Catholic and spent many years serving as an altar boy. Patrick loved the shore, his work, and sports, he especially enjoyed bowling and horseshoes. He was nominated 'ALL YARD' by his childhood peers because of his multiple sport skills. Patrick's career in the Hospitality Industry spanned over 50 years. He quickly rose to the top of his profession by gaining essential work experience at Tavern on the Green, Garden City and Thompson Hotels, Mamaroneck and Waters Edge Yacht Clubs, and Fogo de Chao all located in New York. He also lectured as an Adjunct Professor at Rockland Community College and Fairleigh Dickinson University. Patrick is survived by his wife, Mary Maguire, and her two daughters, brother Dennis M. Kelly and his wife Susan, their two daughters and husbands and one son. Patrick was predeceased by his elder brother John L. Kelly III. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated for Patrick J. Kelly 10:00am Monday, September 30, 2024 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, 2651 Atlantic Avenue, Atlantic City, NJ. Those who wish to express their condolences before mass can do so between 9a.m. and 9:45a.m. Father Patrick J. Brady will be officiating the Mass. Immediately following the Mass, entombment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery and Chapel Mausoleum, 5061 Harding Highway (route 40), Mays Landing, NJ 08330.
