I had no idea Mario passed. :( I worked with Mario in his shop doing drawings for a few years. What a fun loving man, he taught me a lot about cabinetry. I can honestly say he had a bit to do with my success today. Heaven must have needed an expert cabinet maker because he was all about perfection. I just have to say he loved his kids, I'm sure they knew it but he always tspoke highly about them. He was a good man and a fighter. I know one last thing though I decided after riding with him to a job that I'd never drive with him again, ugh. My thoughts a prayers for the family.

Mario,
My entire life I've considered you my best friend from high school. I've never had a friend quite like you, Mario. You certainly were one of a kind. But you were much more then that to me. You were my first mentor, my teacher, my example. You taught me about loyalty to friends and family. You taught me selfless generosity. Toughness. The results of hard work. You gave me a lot and asked nothing in return. You gave me my first whiplash from that hotrod you built from scratch as you accelerated down Missouri Ave. I should of listened when you yelled over the engine roar "hold on." You protected me like your little brother from bad things and bad people. Your actions gave me the confidence and pride that I still carry with me today. You showed me what it is to be a real man and friend. You didn't set the bar high...you WERE the bar. Funny, but I don't recall you being violent to others. You didn't need to because you exuded "bad ass" with a simple look. No one messed with you..and me by proxy. You taught me to respect women and don't settle for less then the best by example in your choosing the most beautiful, sexy and say-it-like-it-is woman in AC - Carmon. The two of you - the salt of the earth! I only wish I was as lucky as you to find my soulmate. You taught me Italian, not the language but the soul of Italian. Can't tell you how proud I've been my whole life for a nice Irish boy to say that his best friend in High School was a kid named Mario Bongiovanni! Never forget all those fun nights in Little Italy and secret Bones meetings. How happy you were to get into that "secret society. So much more to tell you, Mario. But I'll let you rest now. You've had a long good life and made an indelible and lasting impression on many. I'm here to tell you this last time about the powerful impression you made on me that's made me the person I am today. Thanks for the fun, the laughs, the limo rides, the lessons of life, the mentoring. I'll miss you. But your memory will stay with me always. Your influence certainly will.
One of your best friends,
George

Mario was a wonderful man! He not only welcomed my brother Gavin into his family, he welcomed all of us! He was tough as nails, but also kind and giving and thoughtful! He was always willing to help people in need! His light and his love carry on in all who know him, especially his children and his grandchildren! Death has no power, when there is love!

I am so heartbroken to hear of this news. This was truly a great man! He had a sweet and loving way and his family was like my 2nd family for a long time. I remember our trip to Las Vegas that we went on and had so much fun along with countless memories at their beautiful home as we grew up.
May Carmen, Gina and Mario take comfort and peace in their treasured memories and in knowing he will always be with them along with his beautiful grand babies Enzo and Giada.
Our deepest condolences and loving thoughts and prayers are with you all at this difficult time. I love u all and am here if you need anything.

Mario was one of the Ol' time firefighter officers. They don't make them today. He knew firefighting inside and out and took care of his men. Rest in Peace, Mario .

Our condolences to the Bongiovanni and Voci families on their loss of Mario. I’ve known Mario since we were neighbors on LaClede Place in Atlantic City. Our relationship started as neighbors and ended as friends and hunting buddies. As we all know, Mario was one of kind, and surely will be missed by many. R.I.P. Mario.
