Rosemarie Donatucci (nee Galle), 95, of Atlantic City, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2024.
She was born in Pottsville, PA to Vito and Catherine Galle who emigrated from Calabria, Italy.
She graduated from Pottsville High School and started her first job as a secretary at Fort Indian Gap Army Base. There she met her future husband, Francis J. "Frank" Donatucci, who was serving in the U.S. Army. They married on New Year's Eve 1950 and went on to build a life around their five children in Philadelphia and Atlantic City. Rosemarie was a beloved wife, mother, Nana, sister, aunt, and friend to so many.
Throughout her life, Rosemarie proudly worked various unique jobs all while raising her children. While living in Philadelphia, she served as a committee woman for Arlen Spector's campaign and worked for the Pennsylvania State Department of Labor. Later in Atlantic City, she worked in Caesars Casino, Saint Michael's School, and Saint Nicholas of Tolentine Church.
Rosemarie was a vibrant social butterfly who made many friends throughout her life. She enjoyed living in Atlantic City, walking on the boardwalk, and going to shows in the casinos. She cherished time spent with family and friends, and often took her children and grandchildren on various outings. Rosemarie was a devout catholic and walked to church every day to attend Mass.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Frank, and beloved sisters and brothers-in-law: Josephine and Joseph Devine; Angela and Herbert Steiff; Elizabeth Ann and William McGinley.
She is survived by her children, Ann (Ray) O'Neill; Mary Kay Granillo; Frances Franchi; John Donatucci, Tina Donatucci; grandchildren, Jeff (Julie) Payne, Teresa (Charles) Simpson, Alexis (TJ) Narron, Robert Franchi, Kevin Callaghan, Rachael Callaghan; great-grandchildren, Josie Moore, Lydia Narron; her brother, Vito Galle and his wife Virginia; her brother-in-law, Fred Donatucci and his wife Rita.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated for Rosemarie Donatucci 11:00am Friday, February 2, 2024 at St. Michaels Church 10 North Mississippi Avenue, Atlantic City, NJ. Relatives and friends may begin to gather at the church for visitation from 9:30am until Mass. The Rite of Committal will be offered at Holy Cross Cemetery , Route 40 (Harding Highway) Mays Landing following Mass.
