Obituary of Francis Xavier Dennehy

Francis Xavier Dennehy Sr. age 86 , of Atlantic City, past away peacefully on February 16, 2018. Born and raised in Philadelphia he was the son of Irish immigrants. Frank was a graduate of Northeast Catholic High School for Boys in Philadelphia, and of LaSalle College. He was a Certified Public Accountant and retired partner of Deloitte & Touche (Deloitte Haskins and Sells), an international accounting firm. As a CPA, he was on the New Jersey State Casino Control Commission, and helped to write the original N.J. Casino Gaming rules. Frank served two years in the US Army in the 1950s, with an Honorable Discharge. He was 4th Degree Knight of Columbus. Frank was an avid fan of golf and LaSalle College basketball, as well as Philadelphia's pro sports teams. He lived to see his Philadelphia Eagles win the Super Bowl. He is preceded in death by his brother, Dr John Dennehy, and his sister, Sr. M. Nora Dennehy, RGS. Frank is survived by his sister Winifred Young; 4 children: Frank Dennehy Jr, Robert Dennehy, Christine Hale, and J. Terence Dennehy; and his former wife Margaret Dennehy, along with 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated for Francis Xavier Dennehy 11:00am Saturday, February 24, 2018 at St. Nicholas of Tolentine Church, Tennessee and Pacific Avenues, Atlantic City, NJ. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing from 10:00am at the Church. The Rite of Committal will be offered at Holy Cross Cemetery, Mays Landing following Mass.
