Obituary of Tito P. Lomboy

Tito Picazo Lomboy Jr., M.D. passed away at the age of 88 in Atlantic City, NJ on Monday 12:00 PM June 12, 2023. Tito was born on September 12, 1934 in Caba, La Union, Philippines. He was the son of Theodora Runtal Picazo Lomboy and Tito Picardel Lomboy Sr. He is preceded in death by his sister Magelia Lomboy-Fabio and survived by his remaining siblings Teddy Lomboy, Lilia Lomboy-Rigor, and Erlinda Lomboy-Aguilar. He married Norma Pulida Trinidad on January 3, 1959 and were married for 61 years. Tito began his professional career after graduating from the University of SantoTomas with a Medical Degree in 1958. He worked as a professor at the CIT College of Medicine in Cebu City, Philippines. He left the Philippines in 1962 and moved to the U.S. to continue a fellowship in Pathology where he became a fellow at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA. He then worked as a resident in Pathology at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, VA. He returned home to the Philippines briefly only to return in 1967 when he emigrated with his family to the United States where he was offered his first job as a Pathologist at DePaul Hospital in Norfolk , VA. From there he decided to move to Pueblo, Colorado where he and his wife both worked at the Colorado State Hospital. They only stayed there for a year and eventually Tito moved his family to Allentown, PA in 1969. He began a career in Pathology at Allentown General Hospital from 1969-1977. Later in 1977, he started his own medical laboratory as the Medical Director in Allentown, PA known as Medical Diagnostic Laboratories which he ran from until 2003. In his retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren who lovingly referred to him as "Lolo" and "Papa". Tito and Norma loved to travel across the US their "camper" going crabbing and fishing with their essential snacks of pumpkin seeds, twizzlers, and pork rinds. They also enjoyed their travels abroad, especially returning to the Philippines where they continued their lives together doing charitable work. They built a home together in Iba, Zambales which they considered their second home where they focused their time and effort doing charitable work for the children in that town. However, nothing was more important to him than his personal devotion to his faith and Jesus Christ, our Lord. Tito is survived by his five children and their spouses: Clifford(MaryGrace), Carl(Bonnie), Caroline(Bob), Christine, and Craig(Dorothy). He is also survived by his grandchildren and their spouses: Elise(Aaron), Nicholas(Hannah), and Christian; Jason, Jonathan, and Jacqueline(Steve); Briana and Alexander; Emmerson; Erin, Kelly, Kieran, and Declan.
