Please share a memory of Frank to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Frank J. Phillips, born October 31, 1930 and called home Tuesday, August 3, 2021 after a brief illness. He passed surrounded by his wife Marge, his children and his Brandall family. Frank was known for his warm and charismatic personality. His laugh could be infectious. Devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who adored his family. He was a lifelong banker but spent the last 17 years of his career in the accounting department at Tropicana Hotel/Casino and he referred to his coworkers as his "Tropicana Family". He retired from the Tropicana at the age of 79. Born at home on Florida Avenue "Duck Town" in Atlantic City. He was very proud of his Italian Heritage. He attended St. Michael's Grammar School and graduated from Atlantic City High School in 1949. He served on the ACHS reunion committee until their last reunion. He was active in numerous civic organizations through out his life and was most fond of The Jaycees of Absecon and the March of Dimes. He was a member of the American Institute of Banking and taught the "Principles of Banking" course for many years at ACCC. He loved living at the seashore and could be seen in his beach hat sporting all of the beach tags gathered through the years. He was a dapper dresser often seen in a suit and tie - casual for Frank was the suit without the vest. Frank spent his retirement years at Brandywine Assisted Living at Brandall Estates with his wife Marge, where he was the President of the Residents Council, and enjoyed numerous activities - but he was most fond of the Friday Happy Hours. Frank is predeceased by his daughter Francine; his sister Caroline (Dolly); and brother Raymond. He is survived by his wife Marge (Friel); his daughter Marguerite Scanny (Jay); his sons Frank (Melissa) and Joe (Alane); 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and his sister Rita. There will be a small Memorial Service at the Holy Cross Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel, in Mays Landing at 12:00 Noon Monday, August 9, 2021.
