Immaculata Cannavo "Mae" (nee DiTeodore) 89, of Margate, NJ, passed away January 29th 2021 peacefully at home with her family by her side. She went on to join her beloved husband of 41 years Joseph J. Cannavo.
Mae was Born in Philadelphia, Pa and Graduated from Hallahan Catholic Girls High School. Throughout life, she enjoyed family movie night on Sundays, summer vacations to various places with her family to expand their horizons and experience new things together, family solving crossword puzzles, loved decorating the house for holidays and making delicious holiday dinners for the big family gatherings, arts and crafts, painting as a creative outlet, nurturing her house plants, bowling team, long walks on the boardwalk to breathe in the fresh air and relax, getting dressed up and going to see a show at the casino, and taking long scenic drives with her husband Joe, who was the love of her life & also her soul mate.
She was an Active member of Holy Trinity Parish. Was affiliated with the Lioness Club of Ventnor-Margate and also the Order Sons and Daughters of Italy in America where she made and retained life-long friendships.
She was a very loving, caring, compassionate, generous, and charismatic person, who always looked for the silver-lining in people. She always smiled and never forgot birthdays, holidays or special occasions. Family was very precious and meant everything to her.
Mae is predeceased by her spouse Joseph J. Cannavo, her parents Ettore and Concetta (Serfilippo) DiTheodore, her brothers Harry, Anthony, and Willie DiTheodore, and her sister Christine Pauza.
She will be sadly missed by her sister Mary Jane and brother Fred DiTheodore; her son Joseph A. Cannavo; daughter Joan Vyas (Michael) and daughter Jacqueline Abrams (Glenn) and grandchildren Stacey Cannavo, Nicholas Abrams and Anthony Abrams (Lindsay).
Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated for Immaculata "Mae" Cannavo 10:30am Saturday, February 6, 2021at Holy Cross Church 651 East Springfield Road Springfield, PA. Relatives and friends may call at the church from 9:30am. The Rite of Committal will be offered at SS Peter and Paul Cemetery 1600 South Sproul Road, Springfield, PA 19064 following Mass. Arrangements by the Gormley Funeral Home LLC, AC. (gormleyfuneralhomellc).
